ULTRABAC SOFTWARE UPGRADE POLICY Print format version of this page

Upgrades and Updates - Version 8.x

Software version upgrades and software updates are available at no charge to all customers during the initial 60-day warranty period. After the initial warranty period expires the following conditions apply.

Licensing

UltraBac license files for 8.0 will work with all 8.0.x versions. Minor software updates (Example: 8.0.1 to 8.0.2) do not require an updated license.  All software version upgrades (Example: 7.X to 8.X or 8.0 to 8.1) require an updated license.

Maintenance Customers

All software version upgrades and software updates are available at no charge to customers who have current maintenance contracts.

Non-Maintenance Customers

Minor software updates (Example: 8.0 to 8.0.1): No Charge

Software version upgrades (Example: 7.X to 8.X or 7.0 to 7.1):

  • After the warranty has expired but less than six months from the date of invoice, the charge is 25% of the current product list price.
  • More than six months from the date of invoice, the charge is 50% of the current product list price.

Customers upgrading two or more software versions at a time may be charged an additional version upgrade fee. (Example: Upgrading from 6.38 to 8.x)

All Customers

For any license upgrade from one product to another, the cost is the difference between product costs plus a $50 administration fee. Example: Upgrade to Small Business Server from Single Server Edition = ($795-495) + $50 = $350.
