UltraBac Software's Year In Review

Thank you to all of our customers, resellers, partners, and industry supporters who contributed to a successful and busy year at UltraBac Software!

In May we celebrated our 25th year in business - made possible by close partnerships forged with our customers, teamwork with our committed resellers, and dedication by our hard-working employees. With these resources, UltraBac Software has been able to deliver reliable and cost-effective products year after year. We pride ourselves in producing first-to-market technologies by focusing solely on providing the best backup and disaster recovery products available.

UltraBac Software's accomplishments were showcased when we were honored with a 2006 Storage Products of the Year Silver Award from TechTarget's Storage Media Group in the first quarter of 2007. Our UBDR Gold bare metal disaster recovery product was first nominated by IT professionals and vendors. Then, Storage magazine-SearchStorage.com editorial staff, as well as a team of users, industry experts, analysts, and consultants, judged the entries on ease of integration, functionality, innovation, manageability, performance, and value. The highest scoring products were finally rated on practicality and importance to select the 15 "Products of the Year." UBDR Gold v3.0 was awarded Silver in the Backup and Disaster Recovery Software category, placing ahead of Symantec's Backup Exec.

Other industry achievements this year included recognition by the Puget Sound Business Journal when UltraBac Software was listed as one of the area's "Top Software Developers" for 2007. In addition, Software magazine selected UltraBac Software as one of their "Software 500" companies for the tenth straight year.

We were excited to introduce new versions of our most popular products in 2007. UltraBac Version 8.2 was rolled out in May and offers major enhancements, including file-by-file backup support for Volume Shadow Copy Service, Secure FTP (SFTP), and a brand new SharePoint Server Agent. There are also improved features and functionality, including an enhanced GUI, automated cleaning options for tape libraries, and extended UltraCopy features. A month later, in June, UBDR Gold Version 3.5 was announced, offering user interface revisions, the ability to restore to partitions that are both larger and smaller than the original, and the option for users to specify drivers during both the boot and restore processes. These updates provide for unlimited capabilities for recovery in virtual environments and to dissimilar hardware.

Reinforcing our attention to virtual environments, UltraBac Software joined VMware's Technology Alliance Partner Program in September. The partnership was initiated in response to UBDR Gold's ability to facilitate P2V, V2V, and V2P image-based backups, as well as to migrate and restore to virtual and physical servers. This new alliance fits well with VMware's desire to build and strengthen relationships with customers by helping them recognize compatible solutions which enhance the use of their products.
