Is it possible to restore an Image of a Physical Machine into a VMware Host?
Yes, UBDR Gold 3.0 has the ability to take an image of a physical computer and restore it to a virtual
VMware host. It can be restored to VMware Workstation, ESX Server, or GSX Server.
These are the prerequisites for a full OS Restore:
- Restore target system must be configured to boot from CD-ROM or a UBDR Gold CD image file.
- An Image Agent backup of the original system must be available.
- The target disk must be large enough to hold the partition(s) to be restored.
- VMware server must be configured with same OS as the imaged system.
