Our current development plate includes: NDMP compliance, dynamic disk backup/restore, VSS, new agents for UX/MacOSX, disk pooling, and advanced media management. HOT TOPIC FROM ULTRABAC'S TECH SUPPORT
Can UltraBac perform image backups of remote machines? Yes, UltraBac 7.0.3 now has the ability to pull image backups from remote Windows NT4/2000 servers and NT4/2000/XP workstations. To back up remote machines, install the agents directly onto the remote machine. A user may customize their install to include only the Image Disaster Recovery Agent. When a user performs an image backup, it is highly recommended to send each image to its own remote directory. If there were two remote machines, Server A and Server B, there would be two separately scheduled backups to two different locations on the network: \\BackupServer\H$\Image\ServerA and \\BackupServer\H$\Image\ServerB. When the restore is performed from the DOS disk, the UltraBac disaster recovery program will need the UNC path of the image backup.
