Jason Sotka Joins UltraBac Software as Enterprise and Government Sales Manager

BELLEVUE, WA -- August 13, 2002  UltraBac Software today announced that Jason Sotka has been named to fill the newly created position of Enterprise and Government Sales Manager. Sotka is a sales and technology industry veteran with a successful track record for closing high-level, large volume sales. He will lead the backup and disaster recovery software developer's efforts to negotiate enterprise license agreements with large corporate and federal agencies.

"Over the past several months, we have seen an increasing number of leads coming from large Enterprise sites and Government entities looking for a new backup and disaster recovery alternative for their evolving needs," said George McAfee, executive vice president for UltraBac Software. "To further take advantage of these opportunities, we created a position to expand our presence within these important market segments. After conducting a tedious job search, Sotka was selected to head these efforts."

Prior to joining UltraBac Software, Sotka served as director of sales, and then vice president of sales and marketing, for BIZI International, Inc., formerly Electronic Vision International. During his almost twelve year tenure with the technology reseller, Sotka successfully implemented initiatives to direct the company's growth toward the profitable end-user channel, doubling sales in two years. He introduced UltraBac as BIZI's new revenue-generating product and formed solid business relationships with UltraBac Software and large government sales companies. This included securing an agreement with the United States' State Department for all embassies and consulates worldwide to utilize UltraBac for their storage, backup and disaster recovery needs.

"Formulating contracts with large entities is not new to UltraBac Software and it is these corporate and government customers I will focus on to continue to expand the company's revenue and market share," said Sotka. "In addition to new business, I plan to develop and implement strategies to expand our business opportunities with existing customers."

Sotka possesses demonstrated knowledge of enterprise agreements in the backup and disaster recovery software arena. He is well-versed in helping customers achieve aggressive savings through the "Total Cost of Ownership" concept, reducing overhead and operation time by effectively implementing one standard backup and recovery utility company-wide and maximizing customer service choices.

Sotka received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Kent State University, Ohio, in 1989. He has several years of Internet promotion and marketing experience he intends to capitalize on to increase Internet sales leads for UltraBac.
