Selecting Files for Backup (Set Editor screen)

In the event that specific file and directory combinations must be selected for backup, follow the instructions for one of the operations listed previously. When the "Create New Set" screen is displayed, choose "Load Set" or to load an existing set select "Backup"/"Open"/(double click the set file - *.ub). This action will read the target drive or network share and load the list of files and directories into the local machine and then display the following screen:

The display of directories and files is controlled by the default parameters set through "PREFERENCES". After the directories are loaded, note that no files have been selected.

To manually select directories, click on the folder on the right column. To select individual files, click on the folder on the left side to display the files and then click on the required files on the right.

Use the "Include" and "Exclude" buttons to select files using program logic. Selections can be made as many times as necessary. To select all files for inclusion, simply click on the default screen's "Use Mask" button; this will automatically select all files (note that Ctrl-E will display the set's selection logic):

Changes can be made to the set's selection logic and displayed by using the "Include", "Exclude", "Move Up", "Move Down", and "Remove" options. This is a useful means for visually validating the selection logic required for the set.

Note: The Set Editor's options: "Include", "Exclude", and "Select"/"Incremental" options apply only to the current files and folders as displayed in the right pane.
