BEI's Autoloader driver supports Barcode (except in version 5.5 - 5.52). Use the "Tools"/"Preferences"/"Media Changer" option path and select "Use Barcodes" to activate Barcode Support.

The user must add at least one tape to the barcode pool before the barcode option will work. First select "Refresh" to display current slot information. Right click on a full slot and select "Make Available for Backup" to add the tape to the barcode pool. To add multiple tapes at one time, highlight multiple full slots (<Ctrl>Left click or <Shift>Left click), right click on the highlighted slots and selecting "Make Available for Backup".
UltraBac maintains an online database of all tapes that the user adds to the barcode pool. UltraBac tracks these tapes, even tapes not currently in the autoloader, including expiration dates. Barcodes are stored in the online index for each backup and in the index on the tape. UltraBac automatically request the proper tapes as needed during backup, restore and verify operations.
Select "Tools"/"Available Backup Media" to display the "Available Media Barcode (Pool)" screen:

To remove tapes from the barcode pool, right click on a tape and select
"Remove".
