SUMMARY:
This document demonstrates how to close an Exchange PST (Personal Folder Storage) file automatically mounted by UltraBac's Individual Mailbox restore process, move it to a different location and re-mount it.
DETAILS:
Window 2000
When performing Individual Mailbox Restores and selecting the option "Mount folder as a PST on this computer...." UltraBac automatically mounts the restored .pst files on the UBMAILBOX profile. If the restore will not be completed before the next Individual Mailbox Backup the user must close the mounted .pst files, move them to a permanent location and re-mount them. To close, move and re-mount an Exchange .pst file within Windows 2000 follow the example below.
To close the automatically mounted .pst files first set Outlook (or Exchange) to start up using the UBMAILBOX profile by selecting "Start"/"Settings"/"Control Panel"/"Mail"/"Show Profiles"/(select UBMAILBOX from the "When starting Microsoft Outlook, use this profile:" drop down list box)/"Close"/(Close the Control Panel)
Restart Outlook (or Exchange).

Right click on the mounted .pst file and select "Close 'Restored /O=....' ". Repeat this for each automatically mounted .pst file.
The .pst files will be found in the <UltraBacRoot>\MailboxTempStore\ folder (e.g. C:\UltraBac\MailboxTempStore).

Move these files to a permanent location (e.g. I:\MailboxRestoredPSTFiles\).
The preceding steps need to be performed prior to the next Individual Mailbox Backup. They ensure the restored .pst files will not be deleted by the next Individual Mailbox Backup. The following steps can be completed at any time.
Mount these permanently located .pst files from within Outlook (or Exchange). Open Outlook using the UBMAILBOX profile or any profile to which you wish to mount the .pst file. Select "Tools"/"Services"/"Add"/"Personal Folder"/(browse to the new location of the .pst files)

Double click on the .pst file or highlight it and select "Open" and the following screen will be displayed:

Enter the "Name:" you want the mounted personal folder to have within Exchange and select "OK" and then "OK" within the "Services" dialog box.
Repeat the last two steps to mount other .pst files.
From within Outlook (or Exchange) you will now find the mounted .pst file(s).

Expand the mounted .pst file and the mailbox to which you wish to restore the data. Drag and drop the folders or items as desired.
When completed you can close (dismount) the .pst file by selecting (Right-Click on the mounted .pst file)/"Close <mounted files name>" (e.g. "Close "Restored_Mike_Sent")
This completes the restore operation.
