HOWTO: Creating the UBMAILBOX Exchange Profile

SUMMARY:

When using UltraBac's Extra-Cost Individual Mailbox Backup Agent the user must create an Exchange Profile called 'UBMAILBOX'. This document explains how to create the 'UBMAILBOX' profile.

To create the necessary Exchange Profile called 'UBMAILBOX' within Windows 2000 follow the example below.

(Note: The Exchange Client must be installed and Exchange Mail set up before proceeding. If necessary, see your Systems Administrator for help. The UltraBac user must have a valid mailbox in Exchange before the profile can be created.)

You must create a 'UBMAILBOX' Exchange profile for each account used to perform Individual mailbox backups. If you run a scheduled backup, the account specified in the Scheduler service needs to have the UBMAILBOX profile, and the same is true for ad-hoc backups.

This step is VERY important! - To create the 'UBMAILBOX' profile, you will need to log on to the UltraBac host as the account used to perform individual mailbox backups.
Close all unnecessary applications.
From Windows' Task Bar select "Start"/"Settings"/"Control Panel"/"Mail"/"Show Profiles"/"Add" to display the Microsoft Outlook Setup Wizard:
Check on only "Microsoft Exchange Server" and check off all other information services and select "Next".
This step is VERY important! - Change the profile name to "UBMAILBOX" (without quotes), and select "Next".
Type in the Exchange server name and then a valid mailbox name (any Exchange mailbox to which this account has authority can be used) and select "Next".
Select "No" to "Do you travel with this computer" and select "Next".
Select "Finish".
Within the "Mail" dialog-box select "Close" and then close "Control Panel".
