SUMMARY:

The following commands may be entered through a DOS Command Prompt screen. These and other "Net" commands can be very helpful when troubleshooting network problems.

DETAILS:

NET HELPMSG # (shows network message)

When reviewing Application Event Log entries for failed connections, an error number may be listed. To display a interpretation of the numeric error code, use the "NET HELPMSG" command followed by the numeric error number (e.g. error 997 is "Overlapped I/O operation is in progress").
