SUMMARY:
Tape devices are defined within NT, and then are accessed within UltraBac. Most tape device drivers get installed and started automatically, as soon as the computer is powered on with the tape drive connected and powered on as well. If your tape device is not one that starts automatically, or if the driver needs to be manually installed, follow the following steps.
DETAILS:
Installing the Tape Device Driver:
Make sure that the tape device is connected and powered on before powering on the computer.

Figure 4: Tape Device Found – Option to Install Driver
If the driver already exists in NT, it will prompt you that the drivers already exist, and will ask if you wish to use the current drivers, or to reinsert the Windows NT CD to install new ones. If you select "Yes" to use the current ones, you will see the following screen:

If you click "Yes", and use the drivers currently on your system, it will bring you to the following screen. Select "Yes" to restart the system.
NOTE: If the driver shows as loaded (below), you should be able to avoid restarting the system by clicking NO. If the driver is not loaded, then you must restart the system to load the tape device driver.
