HOWTO: Setting up the UltraBac User Profile to Send Reports Via Exchange

SUMMARY:

How to set up the UltraBac Profile within NT/2000, to be able to send email using MAPI

DETAILS:

To setup UltraBac to send reports via Exchange follow the example below.

(Note: The Exchange Client must be installed and Exchange Mail set up before proceeding. If necessary, see your Systems Administrator for help. The UltraBac user must have a valid mailbox in Exchange before the profile can be created.)

This step is VERY important! - Logon using the user account and password that the BEI Scheduler Service uses – usually a domain user account (e.g. "DOMAINNAME\UltraBac".)

Close all unnecessary applications.

Open "Control Panel", choose "Mail" (or "Mail and Fax").

If the "MSExchange Setting Properties" dialog box appears, select "Show Profiles", otherwise go to the next step.

Choose "Add", check on only "Microsoft Exchange Server" and check off all other information services.

This step is VERY important! - Choose "Next", change the profile name to "UltraBac" (without quotes), and select "Next".

Type in the Exchange server name and then mailbox name (usually "UltraBac" - without quotes) and select "Next".

Choose "No" to "Do you travel with this computer" and select "Next".

Accept the default for Personal Address Book (e.g. C:\Exchange\mailbox.pab) and select "Next"

Select "Do not add Exchange to the Startup group and select "Next".

Select "Finish".

Go to the list-box "When starting <information service name> use this profile" and select 'UltraBac'.

Highlight and remove any profiles other than "UltraBac" listed in the list-box titled, "The following profiles are set up on this computer."

Choose "Close" and then close "Control Panel".
