INFO: Before/After Backup Option Syntax

UBQ ID Number: UBQ000016

Last Modified: 2000-06-01

SUMMARY:

Format for Before/After commands for sets and groups

DETAILS:

The format within a backup set for the "Before backup &ldots;" and "After backup &ldots;" options is:

$B c:\netstop.bat

(optional before command path with abort flag set off)

$B!c:\netstop.bat

(optional before command path with abort flag set on)

$Ac:\netstart.cmd

(optional after command path)

Example: To print backup and verify logs after the backup and verify are complete, type:

"print /D:\\<computername>\<printsharename> $L$ $V$" in the "after job".

A sample of what might actually appear in the after job text box is:

    print /D:\\SALES1\Print $L$ $V$

Which UltraBac might interpret as:

    print /D:\\SALES1\Print c:\ultrabac\logs\bk980122.000 c:\ultrabac\logs\vy980122.000

For agent specific commands please refer to the Chapter covering the agent.
